A visit to the Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre is an unforgettable experience. The centre provides a home for many of South Africa’s abandoned, injured and poisoned wildlife and is a highly regarded contributor to wildlife conservation in our country. Come and witness the caring and nursing of these wild birds and mammals. Wildlife is brought to the centre from all corners of South Africa, and once healthy enough are re-introduced into their natural environments. Those creatures who cannot be returned to the wild due to the nature and extent of their injuries, are cared for at the centre and are used to educate the many people who visit us each year. Animals you will possibly see: Lion, Leopard, Serval, Cheetah, Hyena, Honey Badger, Eagles, Vultures and any baby animals that we may have at the time of your visit. A multitude of interesting wildlife encounters await you.

Jessica is a 16 year old female Hippopotamus.
What makes Jessica so special and unique, is the fact that she's a wild animal that interacts with humans in a rather different way than nature has intended. She displays mind-boggling characteristics which makes us wonder about our approach towards wild animals. When considering the natural behaviour of the species, it is hard to establish whether Jessica considers herself as human or us humans as fellow hippos? Due to her behaviour, Jessica has become somewhat of a worldwide phenomenon and she has her own international fan-club.

First we will show you a video about Jessica and her history.
We will then move down to the raft and feed Jessica the snack of the day.
After the snack we will give her 2 bottles of tea.
We will then move on to giving her a back rub with our feet and we will sit with Jessica for a while.

Come feed, touch and play with Jessica the Hippo.
